Gaye brings over 14 years of experience as a qualified counsellor, having earned her Bachelor of Counselling in 2012. She takes a holistic approach to her work, valuing and honouring the whole person in every therapeutic interaction. Gaye works with individuals and couples aged 18 and above, offering thoughtful and personalized support tailored to each client’s needs.
Her practice is particularly focused on working with clients who have experienced grief and trauma, as well as those navigating feelings of helplessness or isolation. Gaye's compassionate and insightful manner reflects a deep commitment to fostering hope, healing, and positive change.
Informed by a rich blend of therapeutic modalities, Gaye draws from: Person Centred Therapy, Interactive Drawing Therapy, Creative Therapies, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Imago Therapy, Deep Brain Reorienting, Internal Family Systems and Poly Vagal Therapy.
Each approach adds depth and flexibility to her practice, allowing her to connect meaningfully with a diverse range of clients and challenges. Gaye is ACC registered and also a member of NZCCA.
Outside of her professional role, Gaye finds renewal in nature. She likes to garden, and also enjoys day hikes, biking adventures, and quiet moments by the ocean. Time spent with her family is especially important to her, offering balance and connection that nurtures both her personal and professional life.
